[Solution] For people who become apathetic without a goal.

After all these years, I was recommended from my friend to watch “Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020”.

About Terrace House, It’s a Japanese’s TV show about six people living together.

The highlight of the show is the storyline in which everyone is trying to figure out their love life, work, and future goals.

In members are,

A person who aspires to be a member of the Japanese national basketball team.

An illustrator who aims to work with Hermes.

A person who wants to succeed in music industry.

A person who goes abroad to become a manga artist, signs a contract with a major publisher, and is busy drawing every day.

Some of our members have such wonderful goals.

However, among the members, some have their own thoughts, while others do not know what to do.

It is not as if everyone has such goals and dreams and lives their lives, but many of them just kind of work and spend their time without any goals.

It is very difficult for people to have goals.

  • If you don’t have a goal in life, you become “lethargic”.
  • It is hard to stay motivated.
  • They are not focused on what they want to do.
  • Their goals are vague and they have no passion.
And think that what is the meaning of life,,,.

What should we do then?

There is only one solution.

It’s thinking once again about who you want to be.

If you have never faced yourself, you will not even know what your goal is.

Simply think about what you really want to do and start doing it.

It can be something that is impossible right now, but it can be something related to it.

For example,

  • If you want to become a baseball player, you could do 100 dashes every day.
  • If you want to become a coffee shop owner, try working part-time at a coffee shop.

Just try it for now.

After that, it often doesn’t last for a little while.

The problem here is that the end goal is too far away to motivate even that small step.

And then,

“I can’t do it,” and I become “apathetic” again.

So, what should we do if we can’t keep our energy up?

  • Set small goals.
  • Imagine yourself in the future (self-hypnosis).

In life, thinking about yourself slowly is [the most efficient solution].

It never waste.

Imagine the image of yourself in the future and just enjoy it.

And now, make one small goal. (It can be super simple.)

Write down one thing, one thing you want to do, in a notebook or on a piece of paper, stick it somewhere and look at it until you achieve it.

Give time to that one little thing you want to accomplish anyway.

For ideas, think back to your childhood, or anything that excited you, that you enjoyed, that you didn’t like, whatever it was, and look for it there.

There are indicators hidden there that will become your future, or rather, your goal from now on.

Once you know what they are, you will naturally become clear about what you need to do today, and you will be able to move forward.

It doesn’t matter what it is.

It will naturally become fun.
